Well folks, what can I say? Did we not have cameras in 1980? Did we spend too much time dancing, eating, or visiting the bar that we forgot to record our first reunion with pictures? I can’t answer these questions but I can tell the following things I know from the only piece of memorabilia I was given from that night:
~ We set the date almost to the day of our original graduation weekend ten years earlier. Our School Leaving Ceremony in the JO Gym was on June 5, 1970, and our After Grad at the Georgia Hotel was on June 6, 1970,
~ We were quite sure as 28-year-olds that we could stay up until 1:00 AM,
~ We thought having it at the UBC “Grad” Centre was the perfect venue,
~ A $10.00 registration fee covered much more in 1980 than now.
~ Dinner and Dance formats were still in vogue in 1980.
